The invention relates to a preparation method of silicon nitride ceramics by water-base granulation and direct cold isostatic press moulding. The preparation method comprises the following processes: raw material powder preparation, ball-milling, granulation, moulding and sintering. The preparation method is characterized in that deionized water is used as a solvent in the ball-milling process; and polyacrylic acid and/or ammonium polyacrylate which accounts for 0.5-3 wt% of total amount of the raw material powder are/is added into the solvent in advance. By using deionized water as the solvent, production safety is raised, and production cost is reduced. The prepared silicon nitride ceramic material has a uniform microstructure and good mechanical properties and thermal stability. By direct cold isostatic press moulding, tubular shape, column shape, blank with openings at two ends, blank with an opening at one end or other complex shapes can be formed. Then, high-performance silicon nitride ceramic with high density and high strength can be obtained.
