The invention relates to a method and machine for fabricating a container involving performing intermediate depressurization operation. The method involves introducing a plastic perform (3) in a mold (11) to fabricate a container (2). A blowing operation is carried out to pressurize the preform (3) by introducing gas under blowing pressure. A scavenging operation is performed to partially pressurize a container (2) by introducing the gas under scavenging pressure that is less than the blowing pressure. A depressurization operation is carried out after the blowing operation and before the scavenging operation so as to depressurize the container.
