An armature core (8A) has a plurality of teeth (12) extending radially and is configured such that a plurality of coils (91, 92, 93) are wound on a drum part (12a) of each of the teeth in a concentrated winding configuration, at least the lowermost winding (14) of the first-layer coil is wound in close contact with the winding surface of the base end side of the drum part, and the second-layer coil that is wound thereafter is at least partially wound over the first-layer coil. At least part of the winding surface that is the circumferential surface of the drum part and where the first-layer coil is wound is provided with a step portion (12a1) for preventing the lowermost winding of the first-layer coil from being displaced in a direction in which the drum part extends.
