The sintered-free cordierite honeycomb-ceramic hole plugging material comprises main materials and an assistant. The main materials are prepared from, by weight, 50-100 parts of cordierite and 50-100 parts of aluminium oxide; the assistant is prepared from, by weight, 0.1-3 parts of cellulose and 50-150 parts of silica sol; the particle diameter of the cordierite is 10 microns to 75 microns, the particle diameter of the aluminium oxide is smaller than 20 microns, and the raw materials are further prepared from, by weight, 0.3-5 parts of sodium stearate; the raw materials are mixed, then water is added, the mixture is mixed to be even, and the hole plugging mud material is obtained. The hole plugging material does not need to be sintered, and can meet the using requirement under the natural drying condition, cost and labor are saved, and the heat-treated dried hole plugging mud material can not be subjected to the loosening phenomenon or the falling-off phenomenon.
