The present invention relates to the field of communications. Provided are a base station and a beam covering method, which can improve the service capacity of a communications system. The base station comprises an antenna and at least two data transmission paths. Each transmission path is provided with a data converter and a beamformer. The antenna comprises a beam aggregation structure and at least one antenna subarray. The beam aggregation structure comprises at least one antenna aperture. One beamformer is correspondingly connected to one antenna subarray. One antenna subarray receives and transmits a beam by at least using one antenna aperture in the beam aggregation structure. The at least two data transmission paths are provided with multiplexers. Each multiplexer is used for setting a data transmission path of a to-be-transmitted signal or a radiation signal. The embodiments of the present invention are used in beam coverage.
