The invention provides an absorbent article. The absorbent article includes a surface sheet, a back sheet, and a vertically long absorber interposed between both the sheets. The back sheet has moisture permeability. The absorber has high basis weight parts and low basis weight parts, and the high basis weight parts and the low basis weight parts are integrally molded. The absorber is formed with, on the back sheet, a rugged structure formed by alternately disposing projecting parts being the high basis weight parts and recessed parts being the low basis weight parts, and the low basis weight parts are unevenly disposed on the surface sheet.; The recessed part (the low basis weight part) is recessed to the side of the surface sheet and the projecting part (the high basis weight part) projects to the side of the back sheet. A space formed between the recessed parts (the low basis weight parts) and the back sheet continuously extends at least in the longitudinal direction.
