Embodiments of the invention provide a sand layer prediction method and apparatus. The method comprises the steps of decomposing seismic data of a target layer section into different feature subsets, wherein the feature subsets contain seismic wavelet data and include a frequency feature subset and an amplitude feature subset; screening the seismic wavelet data according to attribute information of known sand layer data and attribute information of the seismic wavelet data to obtain sand layer seismic wavelet data, wherein the sand layer seismic wavelet data is seismic wavelet data corresponding to a sand layer; reconstructing the sand layer seismic wavelet data to obtain a reconstructed seismic data cube; and further, performing waveform analysis and attribute analysis on the reconstructed seismic data cube, and accurately predicting sand layer distribution information according to an analytic result, so that the oil-gas drilling efficiency is improved.
