The invention relates to a food therapy preparation for treating cough due to wind-cold pathogen. One portion of the food therapy preparation is formed by an apple, 21 shelled croton kernels and two ginger slices. The food therapy preparation is prepared by the following method: longitudinally splitting the apple from the center, removing seeds in carpel chambers formed by leathery endocarp, filling one carpel chamber with apple seeds removed with 11 croton kernels and filling the other carpel chamber with apple seeds removed with 10 croton kernels and covering each carpel chamber with one ginger slice; then jointing the two half apples and tightening the apple with a string; putting the apple in a steamer tray to be steamed for 10-15 minutes until the apple is steamed; unfastening the string while the apple is hot, digging out the apple core together with the ginger slices and the croton kernels with a spoon and throwing the apple core together with the ginger slices and the croton kernels away; and obtaining the remaining pulp, namely the food therapy preparation. A side effect inhibitor of the food therapy preparation for treating cough due to wind-cold pathogen is cooled mung bean water or coptis root water. Compared with the prior art, the food therapy preparation is quite simple in compatibility, is quite convenient to prepare, has quite definite curative effects and generally can cure cough due to wind-cold pathogen once.
