The invention belongs to the technical field of rubber and preparation methods, and discloses high-damping rubber and a preparation method thereof. The high-damping rubber is mainly technically characterized by comprising, by weight, 100 parts of acrylic rubber, 20-40 parts of polyvinyl chloride, 0.9-1.1 parts of sulphur, 0.9-1.1 parts of accelerant CZ, 2-4 parts of magnesium oxide, 1-3 parts of stearic acid, 1-3 parts of sodium stearate, 30-50 parts of carbon black N330 and 9-11 parts of di-n-octyl sebacate. By means of a three-stage vulcanization method, the temperature is increased quickly, meanwhile, the polyvinyl chloride is added, then the stearic acid, the sodium stearate and the carbon black are added into the acrylic rubber through a blending technique, damping coefficient of the product is increased for resisting to vibration and noise borne by the product, the temperature resistance range is large, and the capability of the product responding to various harsh usage environments is improved.
