The invention provides technology of a mechanism for periodically adjusting and pressing a medium corresponding to the thickness of the medium in a medium processing device. The medium processing device comprises: a first rotational conveying part capable of rotating to convey the medium; a second rotational conveying part capable of holding the medium with the first rotational conveying part and rotating with the rotational conveying part for conveying the medium; a holding part for holding the second rotational conveying part and configured for displacement corresponding to the thickness of the conveyed medium; first elastomer for pressing the second rotational conveying part to the first rotational conveying part through the holding part; second elastomer for pressing the second rotational conveying part to the first rotational conveying part harder than the first elastomer through the holding part; and an adjustment part for adjusting the position of a part contacting with the holding part of the second elastomer, wherein the part is the end of the elastomer, when the holding part is subjected to displacement, thereby adjusting the distance between the end of the elastomer and the holding part.
