The invention discloses a novel washable flame-retardant coating. The novel washable flame-retardant coating comprises the following components in parts by weight: 70 to 90 parts of water polyurethane flame retardant, 30 to 50 parts of silicon nano particles, 10 to 20 parts of borax, 2 to 3 parts of softening agent, 1 to 2 parts of coupling agent and 20 to 30 parts of water. The invention also provides a preparation method of the coating. The flame-retardant coating is relatively high in flame retardant performance and high in washing resistance. After the fabric utilizes the flame-retardant coating, good softness of the fabric still can be kept, and good hand feeling is maintained. The flame-retardant coating is environment-friendly, safe, effective and suitable for the industrialized mass production.
