An apparatus relates generally to crest factor reduction. In this apparatus, a finite impulse response filter (360) provides a first cancellation pulse (361) and a second cancellation pulse (362). A first adder (311) is coupled to receive an input signal (201) and the first cancellation pulse (361) to provide a first difference signal (335). A peak engine (315) is coupled to receive the first difference signal (335) to provide a cancellation pulse value (336) responsive to the first difference signal (335). The finite impulse response filter (360) is coupled to receive the cancellation pulse value (336) to provide each of the first cancellation pulse (361) and the second cancellation pulse (362). A delay (354) is coupled to receive the input signal (201) to provide a delayed input signal (355). A second adder (305) is coupled to receive the delayed input signal (355) and the second cancellation pulse (362) to provide a second difference signal (325). The second difference signal (325) is a crest factor reduced version of the delayed input signal (355).
