The invention discloses an activated carbon press block for sorbic acid decoloration and a preparation method thereof. The activated carbon press block comprises pressed blocky activated carbon, and the blocky activated carbon comprises the following components in parts by mass: 50-70 parts of powder activated carbon and 10-40 parts of sorbic acid. The preparation method comprises the following steps: fetching certain parts by mass of components and mixing to obtain a mixture; stirring the mixture; putting the stirred mixture into a mould for cold pressing to form a primary activated carbon press block; taking the primary activated carbon press block out of the mould; and naturally drying the primary activated carbon press block for 15-20h to form an activated carbon press block. According to the technical scheme provided by the embodiment of the invention, since the wooden activated carbon powder is made into blocky activated carbon, the floating dust is reduced, and the shortcomings of much dust, strong smell and the like in a decoloration process of wooden activated carbon powder can be overcome.
