The method comprises the following steps of 1) site selection: residual areas of an uncultivated area and an ecological sensitive area are selected; 2) building layout: a building is constructed at a position near a road and walls are arranged on peripheries of the building; the building faces a local dominant wind direction in summer; except for a storage battery room, when an area ratio of window to wall in a room is less than 0.40, visible light transmittance of glass is not less than 0.4; screen position arrangement in a main control room and an illumination design avoid glare of a dial plate; 3) pipeline laying: a cable trench and a road elevation are unified; 4) a retaining structure: a suspended ceiling is arranged in a heating air-conditioning room in the building; 5) decoration: exposed departments of walls, a ceiling, doors and windows and an exhaust fan of the storage battery room and other metal parts are coated with an acid-proof paint or a acid-resistant coating. By using the design method of the transformer substation green building, through the building layout, natural ventilation and lighting and the like, transformer substation building energy consumption is reduced, resources are saved and great economic benefits and social benefits are possessed.
