The difference (Hm-Houc) between the hardness of the intermediate layer and the hardness of the outer-layer cover is greater than 25. The volume (Vm) of the intermediate layer is greater than the volume (Vinc) of the inner-layer cover. The volume (Vinc) of the inner-layer cover is greater than the volume (Vouc) of the outer-layer cover. The ratio [(Vm+Vinc+Vouc)/V] of the sum (Vm+Vinc+Vouc) of the volumes of the intermediate layer, the inner-layer cover, and the outer-layer cover, to the volume (V) of the entire golf ball is less than 0.30. The ratio (Vm/Vouc) of the volume of the intermediate layer to the volume of the outer-layer cover is greater than 1.50. The product (Vm Hm) of the volume and hardness of the intermediate layer, and the product (Vouc Houc) of the volume and hardness of the outer-layer cover satisfy the relationship [(Vm Hm)/(Vouc Houc)] > 3.0.
