The invention relates to a disconnecting switch. The disconnecting switch comprises a contact, a contact side arc striking rod, a contact finger and a contact finger side arc striking rod. A protection cover is arranged between the contact and the contact side arc striking rod or between the contact finger and the contact finger side arc striking rod. The protection cover disconnects the contact and the contact finger with the contact side arc striking rod and the contact finger side arc striking rod when the contact side arc striking rod and the contact finger side arc striking rod are in conductive contact. According to the invention, the protection cover is between the contact and the contact side arc striking rod or between the contact finger and the contact finger side arc striking rod, the protection cover isolates the contact and the contact finger from the contact side arc striking rod and the contact finger side arc striking rod in switching-on and switching-off processes, and when the contact side arc striking rod is in conductive contact with the contact finger side arc striking rod, sparks splashed by a burning arc is blocked by the protection cover and is prevented from being splashed on contact and the contact finger, so that the contact and the contact finger are protected.
