The invention discloses electrode paste, prepared by raw materials as follows: 45-55 parts by weight of electrically calcined anthracite or butt blocks, 45-55 parts by weight of calcined petroleum coke, 8-12 parts by weight of asphalt modified resin binders, and 18-22 parts by weight of medium temperature coal tar powder. The manufacturing method employs the normal temperature mixing kneading technique, and comprises the steps of: kneading blocky electrode paste in a certain shape; and performing vacuum recycling on the solvent in resin for cyclic utilization. A whole process does not need heating, and is performed under normal temperatures, thereby solving the problems of serious environment pollution and energy consumption caused in an asphalt heating process, meanwhile reducing the requirement for production equipment and protective investment, and possessing important environmental protection values and social significance.
