The invention provides an application of biological polyol salts as a drilling fluid processing agent. The biological polyol salts are the byproducts of a corn biochemical method for producing glycol and propylene glycol. The added biological polyol salts account for 3 to 50 wt% of base fluid of drilling fluid. The invention provides an application of biological polyol salts as a drilling fluid processing agent. The adopted biological polyol salts are the byproducts of a corn biochemical method for producing glycol and propylene glycol. The provided method recycles the industrial byproducts namely biological polyol salts as a drilling fluid processing agent. Moreover, the biological polyol salts can lubricate and weight the drilling liquid, increase the viscosity of drilling liquid, and improve the temperature resistant property of drilling liquid.
