The endoscopic system is provided with: an illumination unit capable of outputting illumination light on a visual field to generate returning light from a specified material; a sensor section in which multiple pixels, which receive said returning light from the visual field and generate an electric signal by photoelectric conversion, are disposed on a two-dimensional surface and which is able to successively read the electric signals generated by said multiple pixels as image information; a reset pulse-generating section for generating reset pulses for releasing the charges accumulated by the multiple pixels; and a reset pulse control section for adjusting the timing for generating the reset pulses so that each period between the respective generation of two consecutive reset pulses comprises at least some of the multiple image frames.
