The invention provides a measuring method for the closed loop time delay of a wide area closed loop control system of an electric system. The measuring method comprises the following steps that: firstly, a phasor measurement unit sends a measurement data packet; secondly, a network control server receives and analyzes the measurement data packet to obtain synchronous measurement data; thirdly, the network control server performs synchronous treatment according to the time marks of the synchronous measurement data and calculates a control command and then issues the control command to a network control unit; fourthly, the network control unit records the current moment and obtains the time mark of the received control command, the difference therebetween being the closed loop time delay of one measurement; fifthly, a series of measurement values of the closed loop time delay can be obtained through multiple measurements. The measuring method for the closed loop time delay of a wide area closed loop control system of an electric system solves the problem that the closed loop time delay of a wide area closed loop control system of an electric system cannot be measured in the prior art.
