The invention relates to the electronic technical field and especially discloses a control method of a terminal. The control method comprises the steps of: sending an ultrasonic signal and obtaining sending time; receiving the ultrasonic signal and obtaining receiving time; according to the difference between the receiving time and the sending time, determining the distance of a detected object; and when the distance of the detected object is smaller than a preset threshold, controlling a screen of the terminal to be darkened or turned off. The invention further discloses the terminal which is controlled by the above method. According to the invention, on the premise that surface openings of the terminal are not added, the distance of the detected object is determined, and the screen of the terminal is controlled to be darkened or turned off.
