The invention provides a power utilization information collection system and method based on short distance wireless communication. The power utilization information collection system comprises an intelligent electric energy meter, a collector and a concentrator. The collector collects power utilization information from the intelligent electric energy meter and transmits the power utilization information to the concentrator. The provided power utilization information collection system is free from connection with a RS485 communication line and is easy to installed and debug and only a short distance wireless communication module is installed on the collector. A plugging mode is employed, the mode is simple and wrong connection cannot happen. The reliability is high, the average power consumption is low, maintenance is easy, the cost is low, the RS485 construction wiring cost is lowered, labor cost and whole cost can be lowered more, and the power utilization information collection system has advantages of high transmission rate, short collection cycle, high reliability, low engineering implementation maintenance difficulty and the like.
