The invention provides paint and a preparation method thereof. A weather-resistant coating can be prepared by coating the surface of an aluminum fiber sound-absorbing board with electrostatic powder, so that the weather resistance of the aluminum fiber sound-absorbing board can be improved on the premise that the sound-absorbing performance of the aluminum fiber sound-absorbing board is not reduced. The powder paint comprises, in percentage by mass, 55%-65% of thermosetting resin, 3%-10% of a curing agent, 20%-40% of pigment and filler as well as 2%-5% of an aid. The preparation technology of the powder paint comprises steps as follows: the components of the weather-resistant electrostatic powder paint are mixed by a high-speed mixer for 6-8 min, then the mixed material is melt-extruded by an extruder, and the extruded material is mixed by the extruder at the temperature of 100-120 DEG C and cooled, the mixed material is then crushed by a crusher into a powder particle finished product with the particle size ranging from 20 mu m to 30 mu m. The powder paint is lower in cost, good in weather resistance, attractive in appearance, practical and very applicable to the aluminum fiber sound-absorbing board.
