An itaconate/isoprene copolymer composite material and use thereof as a dielectric elastomer belong to the technical field of a composite material. The density of polar ester groups and alkoxyl side chains as well as the content of isoprene, that is, the content of carbon-carbon double bonds, are adjusted by copolymerization of itaconate and isoprene in different proportions, so that the effects of regulating the dielectric property and mechanical property of the elastomer are exerted. The elastomer can be crosslinked with a peroxide vulcanization system through a sulfur sulfuration system. An itaconate monomer can be adopted to plastify in a processing process to reduce the modulus of the elastomer. By adding high dielectric filler, the composite material which is high in dielectric constant and low in elastic modulus is obtained. The composite material can obtain high electrostrictive strains at a very low voltage.
