The method comprises the steps: obtaining a gradient binary image corresponding to a detection image of the information card, wherein two numerical values of the gradient binary image are respectively corresponding to high gradient and a low gradient; selecting a line segment from all line segments which are formed by the connection of two high-gradient pixels in the gradient binary image, wherein the number of high-gradient pixels contained in selected line segment meets a preset number condition; determining the boundary of the information card in the detection image according to the selected line segment; and recognizing the information in the card body of the information card in the detection image according to the boundary of the information card. The method and device can improve the efficiency of information recognition of the information card.
