The invention discloses a similar material for simulating coal mining structure water inrush, and a preparation and use method thereof. The similar material takes 10.1-20.3 parts of soybean, 33.0-59.0 parts of river sand, 20-40 parts of calcium carbonate, and 1.5-7.0 parts of gypsum as the raw materials. The preparation method includes: firstly mixing all the raw materials evenly, then adding water into the evenly mixed raw materials, further performing stirring until the raw materials reach certain plasticity and liquidity, finally putting the materials into a test die, performing laying according to the spatial position and distribution pattern of the actual geologic structure, and carrying out room temperature cooling and curing, thus obtaining the similar material. The similar material provided by the invention can indirectly realize the influence effect of water pressure on surrounding rock, has the activity of simulating tectonic activation, and further can simulate structural damage activation under coupling and display the formation and evolution of a water channel.
