A micromolecular drilling fluid for coal bed gas horizontal wells is composed of the following substances in percentage by weight: 1.0 to 2.0% of borehole stabilizing agent, 0.05 to 0.1% of flocculating agent, 0.5 to 1.0% of lubricant, and the balance being water. The provided micromolecular drilling fluid has the advantages that the performance of the drilling fluid on stabilizing the wall of the coal beds is strong, the yield of coal bed gas is high, the collapse of the wall of the coal bed gas well is avoided, at the same time the coal bed is protected; the frictional resistance is reduced, the useless solid phase is eliminated; and the coal bed protecting effect is better that that of a drilling fluid composed of clean water and polymers. The lubricating performance and flocculating performance of the provided micromolecular drilling fluids are close to those of polymer drilling fluid.
