The present invention is characterized by being provided with: a recording source for outputting a stream including compression-encoded image data; a recording job for managing a recording state; an instruction means for changing parameters pertaining to the recording source due to a command transmitted from an external apparatus connected over a network; and a control means for performing a control to switch the acceptance or non-acceptance of the command from the instruction means regarding the recording source associated with the recording job, in response to the recording state of the recording job.
