A 12/8 pole three-phase switched reluctance motor hybrid excitation current control method is characterized in that the conduction cycle of each phase winding is increased from a 1/3 rotor angle cycle of 15 degrees, by a 1/6 rotor angle cycle of 7.5 degrees, to a 1/2 rotor angle cycle of 22.5 degrees. In the 1/6 rotor angle cycle of the extended conduction of each phase winding, the energizing mode of each winding is changed from original positive voltage chopping waves to zero voltage subsequent current, and thus single-and-double-phase hybrid excitation control is realized. By adopting the control method of zero voltage subsequent current for the 1/6 rotor angle cycle of the extended conduction of each phase winding, winding current in an inductance rise zone decreases slowly and generated electromagnetic torque compensates for the insufficient electromagnetic torque of a current build-up process of the next winding. Therefore, the torque pulsation caused by sudden torque change in the winding phase change process is prevented, the total electromagnetic torque of a motor is increased and the loading capacity of the motor is improved.
