The invention provides an attaching method of a protective film, a positioning system for the protective film, a protective film complex and a fabrication method for the protective film. The positioning operation for the protective film attached to a display surface of an electronic device is performed easily and highly precisely. The attaching method of a protective film to be attached to a display surface of an electronic device is provided which comprises displaying, on a cover film provided on a surface of the protective film on an opposite side to a surface at which the protective film is attached to the display surface, a first positioning mark, acquiring a size of the display surface, rendering and displaying a second positioning mark corresponding to the first positioning mark in response to the size of the display surface on the display surface of the electronic device, and attaching the protective film on the display surface in a state in which the protective film is positioned on the display surface using the first and second positioning marks.
