The invention relates to a fall type corn ear property measuring apparatus. The apparatus is characterized in that the apparatus comprises a conveying unit, a vertical guide tube, an image acquisition unit and a control processing unit; the conveying unit comprises a first conveyor belt for allowing corn ears to pass through the first conveyor belt and to enter the vertical guide tube; the vertical guide tube is used for allowing corn ears to vertically fall; the image acquisition unit is used for acquiring the image information of the vertical fall corn ears in a horizontal direction; the image acquisition unit is connected with the control processing unit, and conveys the acquired image information of the corn ears to the control processing unit for processing; and the control processing unit is used for processing the corn ear image information conveyed by the image acquisition unit in order to obtain the ear property information of the corn ears. The apparatus completes all-around trifocal image acquisition of the corn ears when the ears fall, calculates the ear property information according to the acquired image information, and has the advantages of fast measuring speed and accurate measuring result.
