The invention provides a grinding superhard grinding material grinding wheel and cup-shaped grinding wheel-electric spark combined modifying device for an outer grinder. The device comprises a base, a Y axis feeding mechanism, a Z axis feeding mechanism, a modifier, a grinding wheel contour detecting platform and a control system, wherein the Z axis feeding mechanism is mounted above the base; the Y axis feeding mechanism is mounted above the Z axis feeding mechanism; the modifier and the grinding wheel contour detecting platform are both mounted on the Y axis feeding mechanism; the grinding wheel contour detecting table is mounted on the side surface of the modifier; the control system is respectively connected with the Z axis feeding mechanism, the Y axis feeding mechanism and the modifier; the modifier is a cup-shaped grinding wheel-electric spark combined modifier. The device is the modifying device combining the cup shaped grinding wheel modifying method and the electric spark modifying method; proper modifying methods can be selected according to different working conditions.
