The invention discloses a travelling wave sensing device for measuring voltage travelling waves. The travelling wave sensing device comprises a travelling wave sensor body and a signal processing circuit connected with the secondary side of the travelling wave sensor body, wherein the output end of the signal processing circuit is connected with the input end of a travelling wave head detection circuit. The travelling wave sensor body of the travelling wave sensing device has ideal amplitude-frequency, phase-frequency and transient characteristics of a band-pass filter, can meet the requirement for current and voltage steady state quantity detection and has the advantage that detected time delay is very small. The signal processing circuit directly identifies travelling wave heads, detects the polarity of the travelling wave heads and records the arrival moment of the travelling wave heads through a hardware circuit and performs protection and fault positioning, and protection accuracy and speed can be improved.
