The invention relates to a light-emitting device. The light-emitting device comprises a light source and a light expanding unit. The light expanding unit comprises a light expanding lens and a light expanding ring; the light expanding lens comprises a light-incident face, a light-emitting face and a side face; the side face is connected with the light-incident face and the light-emitting face; the light-incident face is provided with a containing cavity which is sunk towards the light-emitting face; the light source is located in the containing cavity; and the light expanding ring is arranged on the light-emitting face and corresponds to the light source so as to enable part of light which is emitted out of the light source and is emergent through the light expanding lens to be reflected in all directions. The invention further relates to a backlight module comprising the light-emitting module.
