The invention discloses a rare earth refining method for a nonferrous metal, and belongs to the field of nonferrous metals. The rare earth refining method comprises the following steps: (1) preparing for molten aluminum refinement; (2) adding the rare earth; (3) standing the molten aluminum; (4) treating after the refinement. The rare earth refining method disclosed by the invention solves the problem that in the existing molten aluminum refining process, pinholes are easily generated in the molten aluminum as hydrogen in the molten aluminum is difficult to remove; the refining method provided by the invention has the advantages of being simple, low in cost and easy to process.
