The invention provides a comprehensive utilization method of light hydrocarbon of refinery plants. The comprehensive utilization method comprises the following steps: step i: reacting the light hydrocarbon of refinery plants with methanol to produce methyl tertiary butyl ether; step ii: separating n-butane and iso-butane by using an extraction process; step iii: conveying the light hydrocarbon with alkane separated into a cleavage reaction device; step iv: separating ethylene and light petrol in a cracking product by using an absorption stabilizing device; step v: using a gas separating device to obtain polymer grade propylene, and conveying the light hydrocarbon and methanol into an etherification reaction device. The method is used for separating and producing products with high additional values, the yields of propylene, ethylene and methyl tertiary butyl ether are increased, n-butane and iso-butane products are obtained, and the comprehensive utilization level of the light hydrocarbon in refinery plants is improved.
