The invention discloses an overhead line fault indication device which comprises a fault indicator, a processor and a communication unit. The fault indicator comprises a first fault indicator and a second fault indicator which are arranged on the same phase line of an overhead line. The first fault indicator and the second fault indicator are used for detecting and sending fault information of the positions where the fault indicators are placed respectively. The fault indicator comprises a sensor which is arranged in the fault indicator and is used for detecting fault information. The communication unit is connected with the sensor and is used for sending the fault information detected by the sensor. According to the overhead line fault indication device, a single-phase grounded fault zone can be located.
