The invention provides an air preheater. The air preheater comprises a flue gas pipeline, an air pipeline and a heat exchanger, wherein the heat exchanger is provided with heat exchanging walls and an air flow channel; the air flow channel is formed by the heat exchanging walls; a catalyst coating is arranged on the surface of each heat exchanging wall; and nitrogen oxide can be subjected to catalytic reduction by the catalyst coatings. The air preheater is a necessary component of a power station boiler, the catalyst coatings coat the inner surfaces of the heat exchanging walls of the preheater, when flue gas flows through the air preheater, NOx in the flue gas is catalyzed and is reduced to N2, the surface of the preheater is utilized sufficiently, and the NOx is discharged as little as possible under the condition that the existing system is not modified greatly.
