The invention relates to a heating method for steel, and concretely relates to a heating method for a cold-heading steel wire. According to the heating method, the temperature target value at a heating first zone is set as 880 DEG C, the temperature target value at a heating second zone is set as 1000 DEG C and the temperature target value at a soaking zone is set as 1040 DEG C. By setting a reasonable excess air coefficient, the atmosphere in a furnace is adjusted into a reducing atmosphere; and the furnace pressure is adjusted to 5 Pa, so that external air is prevented from entering the furnace. By controlling the heating temperature, the excess air coefficient and the furnace pressure, the cold-heading steel SCM435 has a shallow decarbonized layer or does not have a decarbonized layer in a heating process, and the metallographic structure is extremely fine and uniform.
