The invention discloses a method for simplifying power quality data interchange format PQDIF. The method comprises the steps of preliminarily defining a recording head file format, and canceling a reading head of a local real-time data record; transmitting data of each real-time data record according to the recording head file format when a real-time mode is started; linking a first real-time data record and the recording head in the recording head file format, and linking the subsequent real-time data records one by one according to a time sequence; combining all real-time data records and the recording head in the recording head file format to form a complete PQDIF data file when the real-time mode is ended. According to the method, the PQDIF can be simplified, and the simplified PQDIF can be used for transmitting the real-time data.
