The invention provides a pipeline pig remote locating system and method. The method comprises the steps: acquiring and converting a first pressure signal of a first position of a pipeline and a second pressure signal of a second position of the pipeline; respectively carrying out analog-digital conversion on the first pressure signal and the second pressure signal to acquire a third pressure signal and a fourth pressure signal; respectively screening the third pressure signal and the fourth pressure signal according to a preset sampling period, and acquiring a fifth pressure signal and a sixth pressure signal; converting the fifth pressure signal to a corresponding fifth pressure value, and converting the sixth pressure signal to a corresponding sixth pressure value; transmitting the fifth pressure value and the sixth pressure value through a wireless network; generating a first pressure curve according to the fifth pressure value, and generating a second pressure curve according to the sixth pressure value; and determining that the position information of a pipeline pig is located between the first position and the second position when the first pressure curve and the second pressure curve are detected to move downwards within a preset monitoring period.
