The embodiment of the invention provides an IPv6 address allocation method and device. The method comprises receiving first authorized prefixes sent by at least two network access devices, in which different network access devices send different first authtorized prefixes; generating second authorized prefixes according to the received first authorized prefixes, in which the second authorized prefixes are one-to-one corresponding to the first authorized prefixes; and sending the second authorized prefixes to a user device to generate the IPv6 address according to the second authorized prefixes.A plurality of second authorized prefixes can be sent to user devices via a home gateway, so a plurlait yof IPv6 addresses can be generated via the plurality of second authorized prefixes by the user device; and the user device can vist the network via a plurality of network links, so network resource utilization rate is improved.
