A tensile test method for a bent aluminium alloy overhead stranded conductor used for power grids is disclosed. The aluminium alloy overhead stranded conductor used for the power grids cannot be processed into a dumbbell shape sample because the aluminium alloy overhead stranded conductor is small in diameter and uniform in thickness. In tensile tests, fracture frequently occurs at a clamping root. In addition, a wire taken down from the overhead stranded conductor is usually bended, so that the elongation percentage cannot be obtained. The tensile test method of the aluminium alloy overhead stranded conductor, a determination method of clamping force and a measuring method of the elongation percentage are disclosed, and a proper clamping force range of the aluminium alloy overhead stranded conductor is provided. The tensile test method is suitable for performing tensile tests of the aluminium alloy overhead stranded conductor on a device capable of adjusting the clamping force, can measure the elongation percentage of the stranded conductor, and provides good foundations for accurate evaluation of mechanical performance of the overhead stranded conductor.
