The invention discloses a transformer winding state estimation method based on equivalent resistance. According to the method, the collected voltage current data of two sides of a transformer before and after a fault is utilized, the equivalent resistance of a winding is obtained by using least squares algorithm identification, with the equivalent resistance before the fault as a reference value, the deviation of the equivalent resistance after the fault is calculated and analyzed, according to the positive or negative characteristic and size of the deviation, whether the winding is in a normal state or is deformed correspondingly is judged, measures are taken timely, vigilance is carried out for other faults, especially for a transformer near area or outlet short circuit fault, the operation exit is carried out in a serious condition, and the maintenance is arranged.
