The video playing method applied to the video playing client side includes the steps that when the request for synchronously playing multiple videos from a user is received, the request for building link request information of a conversation link between each video and the multimedia server is sent to the multimedia server storing the multiple videos, and the link request information carries the time parameter of the starting playing time point of each video; when the link building result which is fed back by the multimedia server and carries the time parameters indicates that the link is built successfully, the videos corresponding to the same time point are synchronously played after the videos are sequenced according to the time parameters. The video playing method and device, the video playing client side and the multimedia server can realize synchronous playing of the multiple video files at the same time point.
