The embodiment of the invention discloses a video image stitching method and device. The video image stitching method comprises the steps that two adjacent video frames and the position information of a video camera when the video camera shoots the two video frames are obtained; matching ranges of the two video frames are determined respectively according to the position information and the information of the video frames, and images located inside the matching ranges serve as images to be matched; feature extraction is carried out on the images to be matched; feature matching is carried out on the images to be matched of the two video frames according to the extracted features; the two video frames are stitched and fused according to the matched result. The video image stitching method and device can improve stitching speed and accuracy of video images, can avoid excessive dependence on position information of the GPS, and enable an image stitching process to be more stable.
