The electrophoretic particled 70 include a core particle (mother particle) 71; a siloxane-based compound 72 that is bonded to a surface of the core particle 71 and contains a connection structure in which a plurality of siloxane bonds are serially connected to each other; and a charging group 73 that is an organic group bonded to the surface of the core particle 71, contains a main skeleton, and has a positive or negative electric charge. It is preferable that the occupancy rate of an area to which the siloxane-based compound 72 is bonded on the surface of the core particle 71 be in the range of 0.05% to 20%.
