The invention relates to a method for preparing kenaf fibers by utilizing retting of bacillus thuringiensis DY4 bacterial strain. The method comprises the following steps: (1) culturing a preserved bacillus thuringiensis DY4 bacterial strain in a beef extract peptone culture medium, and adding a cryopreserved buffering solution; (2) introducing a primary bacteria ring obtained in the step (1) into a kenaf bran culture medium, and performing the shaking culture; (3) introducing the culture medium obtained in the step (2) into a kenaf bran fermentation culture medium, and performing the shaking culture to obtain fermented liquid; (4) producing a retting pond; and (5) sending the fermented liquid prepared in the step (3) into the retting pond, and carrying out the retting treatment in a spraying manner so as to prepare the kenaf fiber. The method adopts simple process, and short production flow and is applicable to the industrialized mass production.
