The invention provides a torque converter control device comprising a switch valve. Work fluid is lead in via actions of a solenoid valve by the switch valve; the switch valve can switch between a connection position and a disconnection position of a locking clutch; during cooling start, the work fluid is quickly filled into a torque converter mechanism; even when the solenoid valve is fastened on the connection position side, speed loss of driving power can be avoided; when an engine is started, whether a regulated time cooling state of a vehicle is stopped can be determined (S10); upon positive condition, the locking clutch is switched to the disconnection position by the use of a first solenoid valve; pressure of work fluid led from a second fluid path via a control valve is increased (S12, S14) based on a second solenoid valve; whether the engine rotates at rotating speed below the regulated rotating speed is determined; and upon a positive condition, pressure of increased work fluid is reduced (S16, S18, S22, S28).
