The present invention relates to a housing for a drug delivery device, comprising: a first housing component (12) adapted to receive a cartridge (16) at least partially filled with a medicament, a second housing component (14) adapted to receive a drive mechanism (18) to operably engage with the cartridge (16) for dispensing of a dose of the medicament, wherein the first housing component (12, 14) comprises an insert portion (13) to be inserted in an axial direction (1, 2) into a corresponding receptacle (15) of the second housing component (14), and wherein the insert portion (13) comprises at least one radially outwardly extending first interlock member (34) to positively engage and to rotationally lock with a correspondingly shaped second interlock member (36; 40) of the receptacle (15) of the second housing component (14).
